Will the Lights go out on Black Friday
With an unemployment rate of 9% and for African Americans over 15% in the United States, coupled with the uncertainty of 6 million losing unemployment in 2012 and in January 1.8 million is faced with the end to unemployment; will Black Friday blackout.
Many wise consumers are concerned about how to wisely spend this holiday season this year, because for many money is tight. The unemployment dilemma does not just affect the unemployed; it affects the economy as a whole. And as the Congress tried to look good on Veterans Day, maybe for the biggest day for retail in America, they need to step up.
In October the Congress failed to get the 60 votes needed to pass President Obama’s Americans Jobs Act, that would have extended unemployment another year across the board. Maybe to bring some certainty back to the job market a compromise would be a six months extension. Such an announcement would seriously bring more confidence to the American consumer during this holiday season.
Most Americans are very short sighted and would be welling to spend if there was a bigger window before personal economic collapse. Personally; I do not believe in Christmas as the day of the birth of the Christ, but it has always been fun and was always was a boost in the WORLD’S ECONOMY. I think the untimely decision to end unemployment benefits can lead us back into a recession as the black community around me is already in a depression.
